Hilco Industrial To Run Solar Corporation Auction

Farmington Hills, MI - Hilco Industrial, LLC recently announced an October 4, 2006 date for the simultaneous on-site and online auction of late model plastic injection molders as well as other machinery and equipment of Solar Corporation. Libertyville, IL based Solar designs and manufactures injection molded decorative plastic parts, used primarily by automotive and home entertainment products manufacturers.

According to Hilco Industrial, the auction is being conducted due to the wind down of Solar Corporation operations. It will feature 23 plastic injection molding machines from Krauss Maffei, Van Dorn and Cincinnati. Machine capacities are up to 2200 tons and as new as 2004. Other machines include a MAAC Thermoformer, Fanuc CNC Robots (as new as 2004). Also at auction are ancillary support plastics equipment, tool room equipment, rolling stock, warehouse and office equipment, and computers.

The company added that the assets may be previewed on Monday, October 2nd and Tuesday, October 3rd from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. CDT at Solar Corporation's facility in Libertyville, IL. The auction will be conducted on Wednesday October 4th, 2006, beginning at 9 a.m. CDT. Prospective buyers may bid online at www.hilcoind.com or attend in-person.
